Copying and imitating each other. These are the building blocks of human communication, and it is through such replication that we build our spoken language and language of movement. This is choreographer Björn Säfsten’s starting point as he, together with five dancers, plays with the fictitious, asking the question: What is a copy and what is an original? In the performance installation Fictional Copies Björn Säfsten continues his astute and curious exploration of movement-that which gives meaning to our everyday language.
